Our Story

Centro Nazareno de Compasión Agape Inc. is a Christian humanitarian aid organization founded in July 2021 by Dr. Saúl Carranza Muñoz in the Prairie Lakes district of the Church of the Nazarene. (Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota) For members of the Church of the Nazarene, compassion is a way of life. This organization was created to help the church develop this ministry and learn to work with other organizations that promote service to those in need.
Agape Inc. promotes comprehensive well-being by combating the causes and effects of poverty among the Hispanic population in the United States. The vision is to fight for a dignified life for all. Poverty has many faces, not just economic ones. Human needs can be many and varied. Hunger, loneliness, illness, marginalization, lack of opportunities, or affection. So many things that make human beings unhappy or feel unhappy. Agape's work focuses on clothing, sheltering, feeding, healing, educating, and living in solidarity with those who suffer under oppression, injustice, violence, poverty, hunger, and illness.
Fighting poverty is not just about providing relief for its most terrible consequences. It is about eliminating the causes that lead to the pain and helplessness of those who have no way of dealing with these evils. Often, we only want to alleviate a person's hunger when they have many other needs or, even more importantly, they can alleviate their own hunger. But they don't know how. A wise man from ancient times said that if you give a person a fish, you will satisfy their hunger today, but tomorrow they will be hungry again. If you teach them to fish, you will satisfy their hunger for the rest of their life.
Our goal at Agape is to do both: help solve today's hunger and to allow people the freedom to be the builders of their own future by having the resources, knowledge, and opportunities that they and their family need. The elderly, children, youth, and adults can all be victims of these evils, and that is why, in the spirit of biblical Christianity, we are committed to the poor and those who suffer, helping them by providing goods and resources, training, and assisting in the integration of the Hispanic community so that they can take advantage of all the benefits and opportunities available. The Agape Nazarene Compassion Center is also a training center for pastors and Christian church leaders to learn how to develop community ministries in which they learn to use their most valuable resource, Christian love.
